The Film

A reformed outlaw looking to transition as the wild west fades away, finds that the past may finally be catching up to him.

The Long Look Back is a Western film. Tonally akin with staples such as Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid and True Grit with its camaraderie, banter and journeys across the wilderness. Its themes are familiar to the Western genre yet also unique to its own story.

The film looks to take advantage of its lean script, talented cast and crew, and the beautiful Dakota landscapes. Shooting with top of the line cameras and equipment, it will feature an engaging story along with high technical production quality.

The film will feature actors and crew from South and North Dakota and employ local services and businesses in the area.

The northwest region of South Dakota is full of rolling plains,  rocky buttes, winding creek and river beds.

Our production is a community effort, working closely with local landowners to secure great, scenic shooting locations, local collectors and enthusiasts to obtain period wagons, tools and firearms along with working with businesses and individuals to secure financing and services for the production.
